Inhalt

Dynamische Systeme treten in vielen Beispielen aus der angewandten Mathematik sowie aus den Natur- und Ingenieurwissenschaften auf. Häufig sind periodisches, quasiperiodisches und chaotisches Verhalten, Periodenverdoppelungen und seltsame Attraktoren. Die Vorlesung soll einen Überblick über die wichtigsten Methoden und Begriffe zur Beschreibung dynamischer Systeme geben.

Hauptthemen sind

1. Komplizierte Dynamik ("Chaos"): Intervallabbildungen und andere niedrigdimensionale Beispiele, symbolische Dynamik, Smalesches Hufeisen, Attraktoren, strukturelle Stabilität, Zeitreihenanalyse, Hyperbolizität
2. Ergodentheorie: invariante Maße, Lyapunov-Exponenten, Ergodensätze
3. Verzweigungstheorie: Zentrumsmannigfaltigkeit, Normalformen, homokline und heterokline Verzweigungen
