Inhalt

Die meisten Modelle in den Naturwissenschaften werden durch partielle Differentialgleichungen beschrieben, das sind Gleichungen, die von mehreren Variablen, z.B. Ort und Zeit, abhängen. Zu Anfang wollen wir viele wichtige Beispiele, erste Eigenschaften und direkte Lösungsmethoden kennen lernen.

Im zweiten Teil soll dann die Theorie schwacher Lösungen für lineare partielle Differentialgleichungen studiert werden. Der Begriff der Lösung und der Ableitung wird so abgeschwächt, dass es einfacher wird überhaupt Lösungen zu finden. Solche Lösungen stellen sich oft als "richtige" Lösungen heraus. Die teilweise notwendigen Hilfsmittel aus der Funktionalanalysis, insbesondere Sobolevräume, werden wir während der Vorlesungen entwickeln.
